Our Doctors

Dr. Sherry Weaver is a native Georgian. She worked her way through veterinary school at the University of Georgia and Georgia Tech by working in clinics around Atlanta. In 1992 she graduated from the University of Georgia of Veterinary Medicine where she was inducted into the Phi Zeta honor society.

After graduation in 1992, Dr. Weaver moved to Woodstock to join a practice as an associate. In 2000 feeling the need to spread her medical wings, Dr. Weaver opened her own practice "The Animal Hospital of Towne Lake" in the community she now called home.

In 2004 she moved her growing staff to a new state of the art hospital she built. Her ongoing goals include current continuing education of her entire staff to keep raising the medical bar for your pets' health care and expanding our services and hours to better serve our clients. It's a labor of love.

When Dr. Weaver is not obsessively providing top quality veterinary care she is "mom" to her 11 year old son Kai and newly adopted baby boy Adian. The extended family of the four legged variety includes Eistein and Magic. Dr. Weaver injoys volunteering at her son's school, tending her extensive Bonsai gardens and boating on Lake Allatoona.

Dr. Kristen Parker was the first associate to join our hospital in 2001.  Before graduating from the University of Georgia's College of Veterinary Medicine in 2001, she worked as a vet tech for 6 years in emergency care as well as in private practice.

Her on going passion includes extensive study of Ultrasound Technolgy.  These studies include echo (heart) and abdominal training and she has been key to developing our Telemedicine Services.  Dr. Parker shares Dr. Weaver's interest in exotic pet care and enjoys pursuing continuing education in this specialized field.

During time away from the hospital, Dr. Parker enjoys gourmet cooking and gardening.  Her extended family includles two beautiful brindle American Staffordshire Terriers, Crash & Haddie.

Dr. Amy Gifford

Dr. Amy Gifford joined our practice in 2003. She obtained a BS in biochemistry, then studied at UGA's College of Veterinary Medicine, graduating in 2000. She began working in private practice in the West Cobb area before accepting an associate position with us and moving to Woodstock, making it her home.

Dr. Giffords special area of interest in our practice is orthopedics, spending time in continuing education involving pin placement and external fixitures and repairing difficult bone fractures.

She resides here with her husband, and newly arrived son Ian.  The household is completed with puppies "Barkley & Dingo" and kitties "Mooshu & Milky". When she is not practicing medicine she enjoys music and is currently studying classic piano.

Dr. Wendy Cuevas is the latest addition to our team, joining our practice in April 2007.  She went to the University of Rochester and obtained her BS in Biology and Geology.  She studied music as well at the Eastman School of Music.  She wanted to broaden her horizon, so she moved to England where she obtained her Veterinarian degree at the University of Liverpool in 2002.

She worked in England for one year after graduation and decided to come back to the U.S. to practice.  Dr Cuevas worked for an animal hospital in Fort Lauderdale, FL for over 3 years before moving to Georgia.

Dr Cuevas is married with a young son.  She has 2 pets, a dog named Quincey and her fish Wally.  She enjoys traveling, music, and gourmet foods.  She also speaks fluent spaninsh.
