Don's Orphans

When Dr Sherry Weaver opened her practice in the Woodstock community, Don’s Orphans began. Her vision was, through special efforts, to give back to our animal community. The fund was named to honor her late father Don Sanford.
The animals that have benefited from these efforts found our hospital in many different ways, with every story imaginable. Most of our graduates were found sick or injured, others wiggled in with stranger stories. The cat left behind when her owners moved was brought in by a neighbor who noticed she was acting funny. Seven kittens later, she was feeling much better. A teenager who found him dropped off a "boxer mix" puppy with a broken leg. He not only healed well, but also grew up into a beautiful Great Dane. The stray kitten with a " broken neck" dropped off for euthanasia was found to have a treatable ear infection and cured. She purred so loudly every time the doctors touched her that she could be heard across the room. She was saying, " thank you".
Our hospital is by no means a rescue center. We are committed to excellence in medical care for all of our patients including Don's Orphans. To date, Animal Hospital of Towne Lake has donated tens of thousands of dollars in medical care to Don's orphans. Most of the beneficiaries have gone to wonderful homes, but we always have new orphans looking for their person to love. Check our web site for current orphans or ask our staff to meet some of these special animals that just needed a break and now need a loving home.
Your donations help us expand these efforts, thank you.
